About

If you suffer from a long term health condition, exercise maybe able to improve your quality of life.

Posture Correction takes a three phase approach.

1. Conduct a thorough analysis of the bodies movement and load capabilities in relation to the problem the patient is experiencing.

2. Use exercise to balance muscle groups and align the body's centre of gravity.

3. Provide an ongoing support plan that the patient can use for themselves to continue self care and stop the problem exacerbating again.

Hip Replacement

Lisa B

December 2022, Lisa had a hip replacement surgery. As soon as Lisa was mobile enough to get to the gym, we started training the muscles around the hip and the core. This helped Lisa get back to pre surgery fitness within 10 weeks of surgery. Her shiny new hip now means she can go above and beyond her pre surgical fitness level too. 14-weeks post op, she deadlifted 60kg!

Spinal Correction

Fred C

Originally Fred saw me when I first qualified as a PT with spinal pain after suffering a long term health condition which resulted in surgery. Post-surgery we worked together with postural corrective exercise. Fred went from not being able to sleep at night and with limited movement to sleeping through the night pain free and even doing fitness classes.

8 years later, Fred has come back to me for a top up of treatment and some guidance. Within two sessions, Fred was back on track and once again doing circuit classes and gym sessions in his local gym.

Spinal Correction

Amanda

New to me as a client, Amanda is very active but her love for tennis has left her with a problematic back problem.

Currently working on balancing the lats and traps so that both the left and right side work equally. Currently experiences deltoid pain so also trying to correct the back imbalance whilst not aggravating the deltoid.

Hip Realignment

Shaun G

New to me as a client, Shaun presented with knee pain. Exploration into his body's movement, we noticed that when Shaun lunges his knee drifts to the outside, when in fact it should track towards the big toe. Further assessment showed that he had an imbalance in his glutes. His weak glutes cannot support the hip joint, letting the leg slip out of position. This extra strain on the knee was causing his knee pain.

Spinal Kyphosis

Shaun

A problem that Shaun has had his whole life which is treated in conjunction with a chiropractor. Kyphosis is the concave curvature of the spine, AKA humpback. Treatment in this situation is to promote full range of movement in the traps, lats and deltoids to loosen up the muscles which work so hard to keep his posture the way it. Over time, the weaker muscles should be strong enough to encourage his spine to slightly straighten however current treatment has significantly reduced day to day pain.
